Anna Tahkola (b. 1983 in Oulu) is visual artist who works in the field of contemporary drawing art. Her works has been showed in nine solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions in museums and galleries in Finland, Germany, Russia, Estonia, UK and Portugal.
In artistic practice of Tahkola art is an aesthetic form of philosophy. Her pictures draw possible views to the question: what is it to be human being in this unbalanced world?
Tahkola’s drawing works are corporeal, voluptuous and vivid pictures of reality. The artworks appear from turbulence of nature and complexity of society into silence of art. Human corpus merges with forms of nature in metamorphic act to something new. What matters in graphite is skin, sensitive interactive surface between self and the world.
